Job Description
LocumJobs Recruit is looking for Practice Nurses in Westburn Road.
This is a flexible opportunity for experienced Practice Nurses looking for well-run sessions, supportive teams and clinics that make best use of your treatment room and long-term condition skills.
Flexible bookings available with up to 4 days a week, with the option to keep a regular rota or take ad hoc sessions.
Treatment room and routine nursing clinics with dependable demand.
Role Snapshot
• Core practice nursing with immunisations, dressings and cervical screening depending on skillset
• Long-term condition work where required including reviews and health promotion
• Session options suitable for short-term cover or ongoing support
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver treatment room duties including dressings, wound care and injections
• Administer vaccinations and support seasonal immunisation programmes
• Perform cervical cytology if qualified and in line with local processes
• Undertake long-term condition reviews within competence and protocols
• Provide health promotion and patient education to support self-management
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coding
Requirements
• NMC registration with an active PIN
• Recent UK primary care experience as a Practice Nurse
• Competence in treatment room duties and infection control procedures
• Cervical cytology qualification is desirable
• Up-to-date immunisation training and safeguarding knowledge
• Ability to work confidently within practice protocols and clinical governance
Working Pattern
• Locum, part-time, temporary or contract options available
• Up to 4 days a week with flexible session choice
• Regular repeat bookings available or ad hoc cover depending on preference
• Session timings agreed in advance with clear clinic expectations
